We provide floride treatment for kids age 2 through 14 to prevent the decay of their teeth and make them strong.
Sealants are coating of clear resin which cover the grooves in the teeth to prevent accumulation of food. This protects the teeth from decaying.
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling.
There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You and your dentist can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
Crown And Bridges
After a root canal work, a crown is recommended when a lot of tooth structure has been damaged or lost or when a tooth has become cracked, broken or chipped. A temporary crown is given first. Once a crown is received from the dental lab permanent crown is put on.
A bridge is used to span a gap where teeth have been in the dental structure. We replace your missing teeth with custom- designed replacement teeth that are attached by crowns to your present healthy structure.
Periodontal disease, known as gingivitis in the beginning stages and if left untreated in progressed stages known as periodontitis, is a leading cause of tooth loss. To help save your teeth, early diagnosis of these gum diseases and treatment is essential.
In a regular visit Dr. Atraya examines your teeth for signs of periodontal disease, such as red, swollen gums that bleed easily, receded gums, or loose teeth. If you are experiencing the early stages of periodontal disease, Dr. Atraya may help reverse the effects of the disease.
Regular professional teeth cleanings, brushing, and flossing are your best defenses against these gum diseases.
Dentures & Partial Dentures
A denture is a replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They look very much like your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile. There are two types of dentures - complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. A Partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth and it prevents other teeth from shifting.
Root Canal Therapy:
Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. The pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, and any decay are removed. After this tooth is medicated and filling is done. This saves the toot from further damage and restores the tooth to its normal function. If root canal is not performed tooth needs to be removed. Choosing removing the tooth as a solution will ultimately be more costly and cause significant problems for adjacent teeth.
You may need root canal if
- Decay has reached the living tissue inside (pulp) the tooth
- Infection or abscess have developed inside the tooth or at the root tip
- Injury or trauma to the tooth
- Severe toothache pain
- Sensitivity to hot and cold
- Swelling and/or tenderness
